We understand that our patients may have many questions about the cost and financial policies regarding plastic and reconstructive surgery. General Information
Aesthetic and cosmetic surgery is typically not covered by insurance; however, the costs associated with reconstructive surgery may be reimbursable by your insurance carrier.
Insurance carriers vary widely in what they consider to be the definition of reconstructive surgery. Therefore, our office can submit a Letter of Predetermination of Benefits to your carrier. Your insurance provider will then advise us if they cover the procedure in question.
Patients are responsible for deductibles, co-payments and any out of pocket expenses and when possible – typically, these payments are made preoperatively.
After your surgery, our office will file the appropriate insurance claims on your behalf, and any remaining balance will be billed to you.
If your insurance provider requires a referral for you to be seen, please obtain this form from your primary care physician before your appointment with our office.
